Belenenses had a start in the league below expectations, but they go to this 6th round of the championship with renewed confidence after last week's 3-1 win at Maritimo's home. In a game that marked Pedro Ribeiro's as the new coach of Belem to substitute former Silas coach, the blues not only managed to win, they also scored their first goals of the season. This is a team that interestingly presents more positive results away from home. In the last 10 home matches for all competitions Belenenses won 3, tied 2 and lost 5. Their offense needs to improve, as it failed to materialize, in 4 of the last 5 games for this competition. On the other hand, Rio Ave have not had the start they would have wanted, despite the good results shown on the pitch, vila-condense team clearly aims to qualify for European competition next season and will try to get closer to that goal winning next match. The Manager Carlos Carvalhal has said that he wants to correct the defeat last round against Tondela (2-4), and hopes that the team has learned from the mistakes they made. Defensive consistency hasn't been their best feature, as they have conceded at least one goal in each of the, last 5 matches, but their offense has scored consistently, goals in 4 of the last 5 matches for this competition. Despite the absence of their top scorer Taremi, I see Rio Ave with more arguments and with very strong weapons in their counter attack one of their main weapons. Belenenses lost a lot of influential players last season and there are some new players that came from below leagues which in my opinion makes this team weaker and with some lack of quality for the main league. For that i will be suprised if Rio Ave will not come with a positive result from this game.
